Seminarians of San Jose Seminary joined activities to mark “Lord, Heal Our Land” Sunday on November 5, 2017, called for by the Philippine bishops to usher in the healing of the nation amid the spate of killings linked to the government’s anti-drug campaign.

Josefinos spearheaded the delegation of diocesan seminarians from San Carlos Seminary and the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary in assisting during the Mass presided over by the CBCP President Archbishop Socrates Villegas at the historic EDSA Shrine in Quezon City. In his homily, Villegas urged the faithful to “return to the Lord, seek His pardon, and promise to reform our lives now.”

After the Mass, the seminarians also led the procession of the image of Our Lady of Fatima to the People Power Monument where thousands have gathered to express solidarity with the families of those who have died in the anti-drug campaign and those seeking justice and peace.

The activities happened days after the San Jose Seminary community released a statement expressing the seminarians’ commitment to uphold the teachings of the Church on the sanctity of life, the dignity of the human person, forgiveness, justice, and true peace. (Jeric Pena)
